Kristi Nowak and Joe Swiderski were married in Buffalo NY on Friday August 18th at St. Barnard’s Church.
We started the day at Kristi and Joe’s house with the girls and in a suite down the road with the boys.
The ceremony was small and private at the gorgeous Church with beautiful stations of the cross and stained glass.
About the Couple
Kristi and Joe first met as teenagers 20 years ago, but reconnected only 7 years ago. They enjoy camping in their camper, family fun time. Joe is co-owner of a car lot and Kristi is a director at a State Run Group home. Joe loves Kristi’s kindness, her giving heart, and her beautiful blonde hair. Kristi loves Joe’s pure heart underneath the rough edges.
They were at Yogi Bear Camping. Joe was acting unsual–pacing, not hungry. Then his father said, ” Kristi, let me tell you a story. Come her and sit down” He then said, ” Why don’t we let Joe tell it.” Then much to Kristi’s surprise, Joe kneeled down on rocks and proposed in front of his family, and some of her family and friends. What a surprise!
After the ceremony, we went down to Chestnut Ridge park where we could see the Buffalo Sky line, use the sled shute as backdrop, and the swinging chair. They day was sunny and a bit breezy. Given the wet summer, we were lucky to miss out on any rain!
The couple was married in Buffalo, but the reception was at O’Brien’s Sleepy Hollow in East Aurora. What a hidden gem! The establishment is tucked down a winding driveway by a creek. The set up was gorgeous with White tents, white tables, lights, and chairs. Almost like a fairy tale. The DJ did a great job of getting the crowd up and dancing with his nerd ensemble.
