Carolyn Hutchen and Duncan Kirkwood were married at Friendship Baptist Church in Buffalo,NY on August 13, 2016. The day was a hot one with forecasted showers, but we were lucky to miss out on any of the serious rain.
A harpist accompanied the beautiful ceremony inside the church.
Duncan had a ring for each of Carolyn’s daughters, Raina and Destini. Carolyn had a special set of dog tags for Duncan’s son, Elijah. Both were touching gestures to the children. There was also a sand ceremony to symbolize the combined family.
Amid a storm of bubbles, a horse and carriage arrived outside the church to pick up the newly wedded couple and transport them down the block to the very school where they first met.
Yes, these two are another pair of high school sweethearts. Duncan is a very focused and ambitious man. Carolyn is a very sweet and kind woman. Duncan came to Carolyn’s job to say hello just like usual, but before she went back to working, he surprised her by proposing!
We had formal pictures out front of the fountain on Samuel’s Grand Manor. We only felt a few sprinkles here and there. We really lucked out.
They described their wedding day as a fairy tale and indeed it was. The cake topper had a crystal slipper and castle.
Carolyn later switched out of her flowing gown to a shorter version that gave her more room to dance and showed off her killer legs.
We give you the heartiest congratulations on your marriage. May your marriage be like a cloudless night sky, filled with sparkling stars of love, joy and care.
