On May 13th, 2017 in the town of Youngstown , New York, Alyssa Poniwas and Edward Cassick were married at the First Presbyterian Church. We were worried about rain all week but the day turned out to be a gorgeous one. I think some of the wedding superstitions may actually work.
We first worked with the couple and their cute dog, Chunk on an engagement shoot last fall. He wasn’t in the ceremony today however.
The ladies prepared at Alyssa’s house. Alyssa looked stunning in her white gown and tiara– our own Kate Middleton. The ladies were in beautiful purple gowns.
The ceremony was held at the Youngstown Presbyterian Church. I loved the size of this church and the balcony view from up top.
Alyssa chose Old Fort Niagara as her location for after ceremony wedding formals. The entire wedding party and parents, grandparents took the long hike toward the French Castle. What a beautiful sky for our day!
We stepped back in time. The soldiers in full costume were very helpful and even posed for a few of our pictures. Here the photographer is instructing the couple and the guard for a funny pose.
The group felt like movie stars as three bus full of tourists, mobbed the party with photos. It must have been a treat for them to see traditional American wedding attire. They even asked to pose in some of the pictures. It was a lot of fun and a very unique experience!!!
At the reception, Gramma and Grampa were cutting up the dance floor. She was leading the electric slide. I wish I had her energy.
We wish Ed and Alyssa nothing but happiness on their journey forward! May your love story be as magical and charming as in fairy tales! Congratulations on the wedding!
