You may want a gorgeous Save-the-Date card, new Facebook profile pics, or prints for you and the family.
The Buffalo area has some amazing parks and architecture. Fall is a very popular time for engagement season. I think of the beautiful palette of oranges, reds and browns– leaves, pumpkins, cornfields, and hay. Letchworth State Park, Allegany State Park, and Chestnut Ridge have amazing fall foliage. You can find color trackers online. Becker Farms is a great spot for a cute fall photo session. They have a vineyard; animals; vintage trucks, tractors, and wagons; as well as cute photography setups.
We also have one of the great wonders of the world, Niagara Falls. It’s also a honeymoon destination. Water is always a winning backdrop. Buffalo has great waterfront. Erie Basin Canal, Canalside Buffalo are all in walking distance. Sometimes the setting sun is absolutely breathtaking.
Buffalo’s historic architecture cannot be beat. The Albright Knox art museum, city hall, and all of the amazing churches offer beautiful background structure for a city engagement session.
Engagement photos are also a great time to test run a potential wedding photographer before you sign the big contract. You can test out their personality, style, and how their system works. If you’re happy with the end result, odds are you’ll be happy with your wedding photos too.
Keep in mind, location is not the most important aspect of engagement photography: showcasing the couple’s love is. You are the main subject. We have done engagement photography in our client’s back yard or even the plowed field across the street. A good photographer can find a beautiful background most anywhere or work around it.
These are just a few of the places we’ve worked or visited in the Buffalo area. There are many, many more ideas for engagement photos. If you can think of any, please share. We love exploring new areas of our great town.
